Jetstar appoints new Sales Manager for New Zealand
Low fares leader Jetstar has announced the appointment of Mick Cottrell as Manager New Zealand Sales, a newly established national sales role.
Mick took up the position from Monday 14 March and works alongside Jetstar’s New Zealand and Australia team to focus on sales, market development and channel management.
Mr Cottrell has an extensive background in the airline industry, including with Ansett New Zealand, Ansett Australia and Air New Zealand, as well as sales and management experience with leading international companies in the finance and pharmaceutical sectors including Citibank Australia.
Jetstar Chief Commercial Officer David Koczkar said Jetstar was pleased to welcome Mr Cottrell to the airline’s New Zealand-based team.
“Building relationships with the trade and across the industry is a key focus for Jetstar as we look to cement our greater than 20 percent share of the domestic market in New Zealand,” Mr Koczkar said.
“Mick’s appointment is particularly timely as we this month introduced our new long-haul, two-class proposition from Auckland to Singapore and beyond to key markets throughout Asia,” Mr Koczkar said.
Mr Cottrell said the opportunity to be part of a market-changing airline in New Zealand attracted him to the role.
“I’m very pleased to have the opportunity to be part of the success of the Jetstar brand in New Zealand,” Mr Cottrell said.
Mr Cottrell is based in Auckland.
