Learning Media Acquisition Strengthens Leading Market Position

On 1 April Learning Media Limited finalised an agreement with CWA New Media to acquire its business, bringing together two leaders in education resource and professional development services.

“Everyone in both companies – managers and staff alike – are very excited about joining together to create a company with an enhanced capacity to deliver world-class educational solutions for learners of all ages, across the widest possible range of channels and media”, announced David Glover, Learning Media’s chief executive.

“CWA New Media’s strong background in online education and digital development is the perfect complement to Learning Media’s core expertise in education resource development and publishing, professional development and consultancy services nationally and internally. The partnership of two leading players gives us a strength and depth unmatched in the New Zealand educational materials and services market.”

“We plan to retain CWA New Media’s widely-respected brand identity for the immediate future, trading as a division of Learning Media Limited. CWA’s directors David Copeland, Jill Wilson and Kath Norton join Learning Media’s leadership team. In due course, both arms of the company will be co-located in Learning Media’s offices in Willeston St, Wellington”.
