Institute of Directors Elects President
Auckland company director Denham Shale has been elected President of the Institute of Directors (IoD).
Past president Dr Kerry McDonald announced the appointment at the IoD's annual general meeting in Wellington, 11 April 2011.
Mr Shale has served as Vice President of the IoD since April 2009. He is currently Chairman of The Farmers Trading Company Limited, a director of listed companies OceanaGold Corporation, Turners Auctions Limited and also Mercy Hospice Auckland Foundation and several other private companies.
He has over 20 years of governance experience, including seven years as chairman of national law firm Kensington Swan. He is also a former director of listed companies Allstate Explorations NL (Australia), Les Mills Corporation Limited, Otter Gold Mines Limited, Owens Group Limited, Power New Zealand Limited, United Resources Investment Holdings Limited and Wrightson Limited.
