One Step At A Time - Business Shares Recent Success

Local businessman Graeme Giles says his mountain climbing methodology can be successfully applied to other parts of life, particularly business and will share his observations gleaned from his recent successful 7000m ascend of Mt Aconcagua when he recounts his experience in his talk entitled "One Step at a Time".

His address will be held on Thursday 21 April at Annies Marlborough's, a bussiness he owns with his wife Annie Giles.

How easy is it to get to the top for a non-climber?

Giles is the first to admit he is not a climber. His talk is not just aimed at the active climber or tramper. However, he says you can achieve with good people working with you.

"You don't have to have the skills and knowledge," says Graeme Giles, "with the right people around you it is possible to achieve almost anything".

As the title "One Step at a Time" suggests, Mr Giles systematically prepared for his goal. With instructor Marty Schmidt at his side, he feels he has proven his assertion by successfully reaching the peak of the 7000 metre peak of Aconcagua in Argentina during his February climb.

Giles says an experience like this can help change our approach to how we do things, not just in the sporting arena, but in business and in daily life.

"Climbing and dealing with tough situations in business have a lot in common" Mr Giles says. He is keen to share his thoughts with others and invites people from all walks of life to the recently remodelled premises of Annies in Grovetown to join him as he recounts stories from his expedition to the peak of the highest mountain outside of Asia, the 7000 metre (22,481 ft) peak of Aconcagua in Argentina.
