Ohbaby! NZWebsite On Top Of The World

They call it the Oscars of the internet, and a home-grown New Zealand business has proved it’s among the best in the world – again.

www.ohbaby.co.nz has been given Official Honouree status in this year’s Webby Awards. Over 10,000 entries from around the world were submitted in the 15th Annual Webby Awards. From that daunting number, the international panel of judges including Martha Stewart, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and Arianna Huffington, select just five award nominees in each category. They also give special mention to the crème de la crème of the entrants - bestowing them with Official Honouree status.

OHbaby.co.nz is in good company. Other Official Honourees in the Family/Parenting category are Nickjr.com and healthychildren.org.

This isn’t the first time the New Zealand parenting website has been honoured by the Webby’s. It received Official Honoree status in 2009 and 2007.

OHbaby! managing director Angela Pedersen says “this is a really big deal for our small New Zealand company, that I started 10 years ago, to now be punching above it’s ‘weight’ on an international stage. It’s such a great achievement for us, and a real testament to the small but immensely talented team of people who are OHbaby!”

The Webby Awards is now in its 15th year, and is the world’s leading honour recognising achievements in website, online film and video, mobile and apps, and interactive advertising and media. Nominees in the Family/Parenting category are BabyCenter, Making Sense of Baby, Parenting.com, The Partnership at Drugfree.org and Thomas & Friends. The winners will be chosen by public vote and honoured at a star-studded gala event in New York City on June 13th.
