Richie Mccaw Helps Make Dream Home Reality

Media release: 18 April 2011

Richie Mccaw Helps Make Dream Home Reality

Being the owners of a brand new, purpose-built dream home is now reality for one lucky Hamilton couple – having been welcomed into their Versatile home on Saturday by none other than Richie McCaw.

Karina and Scott Hayward’s were announced as the winners of Versatile Buildings’ free home giveaway in June last year.

The prize – a four bedroom 208m2 Versatile Windsor home, valued at over $250,000 – was presented to Karina and Scott at a ceremony on Saturday morning, with rugby legend and Versatile brand ambassador Richie McCaw officially handing over the house keys.

“We thought owning our own home – especially a brand new one – was a long way down the track,” says Karina. “Now, we have the perfect home, and it really is a dream come true.”

Karina and Scott worked closely with Versatile for eight months to customise their home to their specifications, and were thrilled to show off the final result while taking Richie McCaw on a tour of their home.

“Working with Versatile throughout the building process, we’ve had the chance to really make this home our own, and the team have been so great in customising the house to fit our lifestyle. We want to say a huge thank you to Versatile for making this happen.”

The nationwide competition was part of Versatile’s launch of an expanded range of new homes, which General Manager Darren Sandford says will make home ownership more accessible for all New Zealanders.

“We are thrilled to be able to be a part of this dream for Karina and Scott – it’s fantastic to be able to tell a young couple they have just won their first home from our new range,” says Darren Sandford.

“We believe in making new home ownership more accessible – and more affordable – for more people. With a choice of 40 home designs from a compact 50.4m2 to a spacious 212m2, Versatile homes provide the space, layout and design to fit all Kiwi lifestyles.”

The range of new home designs now offered by Versatile have been developed to suit every location, from inner city section to rural block. Each of the two, three and four bedroom home designs can be tailored to the requirements of individual customers.

Richie McCaw says he has chosen to build with and support Versatile – which was established in Christchurch more than 30 years ago – because of the company’s focus on both quality and value.

“I’ve spent a bit of time looking at the company and working with the guys from Versatile,” says Richie McCaw. “And what has impressed me is that they deliver what they say they will – quality, stylish homes, at a price that makes them accessible to more Kiwis.”

“They are straight-up, local guys who ensure nothing is a hassle – that’s why I’ve chosen them to build my new Carrington home.”
