Barfoot & Thompson appoints new Director
Barfoot & Thompson has appointed Kiri Barfoot a Director of the company.
Kiri joins Peter Thompson, Managing Director, and her father Garth Barfoot, Director, on the board.
Her appointment follows a significant ‘apprenticeship’ within the company since she first joined in 1991 on graduating from Auckland University.
Kiri is the third generation of the Barfoot family to sit on the board. She is also the first female board member. Val Barfoot (Father of Garth and Grandfather of Kiri) and Maurice Thompson (Grandfather of Peter Thompson) established the company in Auckland in 1940.
Kiri joined Barfoot & Thompson as a Property Manager at
the Glenfield Branch followed by sales roles at Northcote
and Glenfield branches.
Following those roles, she
took up positions as Branch Manager at Waiuku, Otahuhu and
Highland Park.
Her experience has provided her with in-depth understanding of all aspects of the business and the real-estate market.
In her current role as Regional Manager, Kiri plays an important role in recruitment, strategic planning and business growth.
Kiri holds a B.Com from University of Auckland. She is the proud mother of two school aged children and takes part in various triathlons and cycling events. She is also a keen fisher when time permits.
