Warren Couillault Launches Funds Management Company

Warren Couillault is pleased to announce the establishment of new investment manager Richmond Investment Management GP Limited (Richmond).

Richmond is a partnership between Warren Couillault and the Spencer Family Group (SFG), led by Berridge Spencer.

Richmond’s initial offering comprises two fund-of-fund products (Richmond International Funds) which will invest with a selection of world-class hedge fund managers. The Richmond International Funds are available to retail investors in NZ dollars and US dollars, with a minimum investment of $25,000. The investment statement is available on the Richmond website: www.richmond.co.nz.

By investing with a selection of preferred hedge fund managers, Richmond aims to generate absolute positive returns regardless of the financial market environment, i.e. in “good” markets and in “bad”. This has been SFG’s experience investing in hedge funds over the past 18 years.

“As we have unfortunately seen in the past few years, financial markets don’t always go up. If you can minimise or avoid losses from your portfolio from falling markets, you spend less time making up lost ground and more time actually making money over the life of your investments” says Richmond CEO, Warren Couillault. “We believe good hedge fund managers are very good at minimising downside, so a portfolio of investments with the right hedge funds is expected to result in a combination of positive returns and low volatility” he says.

Mr Couillault says he is looking forward to bringing the investment opportunity to New Zealand investors: “Richmond is offering investors a truly unique opportunity to invest with what we believe are some of the best funds managers in the world. These managers are usually only accessible to super high net worth or institutional investors.”

Mr Couillault is joined on the Board by Berridge Spencer, Managing Director of SFG, Auckland business consultant and company director, Steve Allbon, and experienced corporate advisor, David Cameron-Brown.
