Vodafone sets a new Benchmark Downunder

Vodafone sets a new Benchmark Downunder

Vodafone is dropping the price of data roaming in Australia to $1/MB, continuing its strategy of simplifying global roaming and leading market pricing.

This new rate is available to prepay and on account customers allowing them to update Facebook, surf the web and check email while in Australia.

$1/MB is the lowest data roaming price available to customers on either side of the Tasman.
Today Telecom customers in Australia pay $8/MB and Two Degrees customers pay $2.50/MB.

Vodafone’s General Manager of Consumer Marketing, Kursten Shalfoon says the move is part of Vodafone’s ongoing commitment to offer the best value to customers heading to our most popular overseas destination.

“We led the market late last year with $2/MB roaming to Australia. Customer feedback was extremely positive, so coupled with that, and our market leading Smart Phone position, we’ve decided to permanently lower the rate to $1/MB.”

To ensure users can keep track of how much data they are using we will send real time TXT notifications to customers mobiles when they reach 2MB, 5MB and 10MB data usage.

The $1/MB rate is available from today to all customers travelling to Australia. To find out more visit http://www.vodafone.co.nz/dataroaming
