6 Awards For Top Selling Boat

The Surtees 5.5 Workmate has done it again and scooped up the award for Aluminium Fishing Boat of the Show (under 6m) at the Hutchwilco Boat Show Awards.

This is an incredibly well deserved win and what’s more, it is the sixth time this illustrious title has been awarded to the Surtees 5.5 Workmate. No other boat has come close to achieving this in the history of the show.

The Surtees 5.5 Workmate has long been regarded as an iconic New Zealand fishing machine so it’s not surprising that it’s New Zealand’s top selling fishing boat.

After 15 years on the market, the 5.5 Workmate has recently undergone a facelift which has seen the design team add in heaps of new features while still retaining the iconic 5.5 Workmate tradition.

“At Surtees we’re fishermen too so we really do put a whole lot of our own personal passion into designing and manufacturing the very best fishing boat” says Phil Sheaff managing director at Surtees Boats.

“We feel like all our hard work is paying off not only with the tough Hutchwilco Boat Show judges but also the tough NZ fishing public”.
