New name for national Bed & Breakfast Association
The organisation representing bed and breakfast operators is changing its name, to Bed & Breakfast Association NEW ZEALAND.
The change of name will make it more obvious who the association represents and better reflects its role as an advocacy group for its members, CEO Trevor Knight says. The organisation was previously known as @home NEW ZEALAND.
“We believe the new name is more meaningful for our overall function and is implicit of strong national unity. It is also inclusive, incorporating sub-group descriptions such as farm stays and homestays,” Mr Knight says.
The decision to change the name was made at the association’s Annual General Meeting at Skyline in Rotorua on 28 May.
To keep costs down, the new name will be introduced gradually over the next year, in conjunction with the revamp of the association’s website which is due for completion within the next month.
