LeftBrain Group acquires another online retailer
Tauranga based LeftBrain Group acquires another online retailer
One of New Zealand’s largest online
retailers has acquired online gadget retailer ‘I Want
That’ (www.iwantthat.co.nz) for an undisclosed
sum.
LeftBrain Group Limited is the parent company to a number of New Zealand’s leading online retail stores including iQ Toys, Baby Universe, Gumboot and I Want That.
The purchase of I Want That follows the acquisition last year of online book and DVD retailer Gumboot.co.nz. LeftBrain managing director Shane Loomb says “We like the idea of having individually branded and highly focused retail websites that benefit from the scale and expertise we have in logistics and IT. There are literally hundreds of small websites in New Zealand and Australia that could benefit from this.”
LeftBrain Group operates from a large 2400sqm warehouse in Mount Maunganui and also has a smaller 400sqm warehouse in Queensland, Australia. The company employs 12 staff in New Zealand and 2 in Australia. Turnover is forecast to exceed $5m in the coming year.
