Sunday Star-Times Shows it's Fashion-Forward with Sponsorship

The country's largest Sunday newspaper is now an elite sponsor of the country's largest fashion event - New Zealand Fashion Week 2011.

The Sunday Star-Times and other Fairfax Media brands are the official media partners of the event which will be held from Tuesday August 29 to Saturday September 3 2011 at the Viaduct Harbour Marine Events Centre.

Sunday Magazine editor Rose Hoare says the sponsorship means the Sunday Star-Times will gain exclusive editorial access during the five-day event.

"Our readers can look forward to a virtual 'front row seat' as we deliver them in-depth coverage, the hottest trends straight from the catwalk and a great behind the scenes look into New Zealand's premier fashion event. The paper is also getting behind the 'Sunday Star-Times Designer Garage Sale' and other exciting initiatives are in the pipeline," says Hoare.

"Ever since it launched in 2004 with a pair of Marc Jacobs slingbacks as 'Shoe of the Week', Sunday has been a clubhouse for fashion devotees, and this new partnership will see us continue as a trusted source for everything fashion. About Town readers will also be getting an unprecedented glimpse into the glamour and gossip Fashion Week brings," says Hoare

It was the company-wide collaboration and team spirit that impressed Myken and Pieter Stewart from New Zealand Fashion Week.

"We're really excited to be partnering with Fairfax Media and the Sunday Star-Times for this year's Fashion Week. Their enthusiasm towards ideas for leveraging the event and profiling it to New Zealanders has been hugely impressive and I know we're going to make some meaningful connections with kiwis," says Myken Stewart, Director of New Zealand Fashion Week.
