Jumbo Convoy to Vegas

27 June 2011

Jumbo Convoy to Vegas

Air New Zealand's grabaseat is celebrating half a decade of ludicrously low airfares in rock-star style, taking two jumbo jets to Las Vegas with a convoy of more than 700 Kiwis in tow.

In planning celebrations for its big day, grabaseat invited fans to choose the party's location and Vegas overwhelmingly came out on top.

The idea proved so popular an entire Boeing 747 sold out in two weeks. Grabaseat has now put on a second jumbo, to fly in convoy with the first, with a limited number of seats still available for groups and individuals keen to get in on the five days of action, departing Auckland on 7 August.

Three weddings, a stag party, several anniversaries and numerous birthdays make up some of the groups travelling on the Jumbo jet duo, with passengers coming from all over New Zealand and Australia ranging in age from twenty-somethings looking for a good time to grandparents wanting to tick Vegas off their bucket lists.

"With two 747s filled with fun-loving Kiwis and Aussies, all looking forward to living it up for five days in Vegas, it will certainly be a trip to remember, says Bruce Parton, Group General Manager Australasia.

"In fact, a large number of them are already in touch with each other via various online forums discussing the trip and what they'll be doing, so for passengers it will be like catching up with several hundred mates, old and new, but in the party capital of the world."

Packages for this trip of a lifetime, which includes direct flights between Auckland and Las Vegas, as well as four nights accommodation at the Tropicana Hotel, airport transfers, pool party at Nikki Beach and a Night Club party at the famous Club Nikki, where top Kiwi band Opshop will be providing the entertainment, start from $2299 per person return. Go to www.grabaseat.co.nz to book your seats, but get in quick before the second charter flight heading away on a trip of a lifetime sells out.
