Contractors forecast Waterview
will provide major boost for Auckland
The green light for the Waterview Connection signals a major economic boost for Auckland, says the New Zealand Contractors’ Federation.
Federation Chief Executive Jeremy Sole welcomed the final Board of Inquiry decision approving consents for the project and said it would make a significant difference to Auckland’s economy both in the construction phases and through associated business activity and increased productivity.
“It will also make a huge difference to the Auckland economy and to Auckland’s ‘livability’,” said Mr Sole.
“We look forward to the announcement in August of the preferred bidder for the construction work and to seeing the construction begin.”
