Clearwater appoints Lindsay Crocker as general manager

Clearwater Golf Club chairman, Brian Vieceli, announced that former Black Caps general manager, Lindsay Crocker, has been appointed general manager of Clearwater Golf Club, a position he has held on an interim basis for the last three months.

Vieceli said “Lindsay brings great sports administration experience to the position, having previously been the general manager of the Canterbury Jockey Club as well as CEO of Auckland Cricket, on top of his seven years with New Zealand Cricket including six years with the Black Caps. His appointment is key to the club taking advantage of increased interest in property and the busy hotel business at Clearwater.”

Crocker, a former first class cricketer for Northern Districts, is an accountant by profession having graduated from Waikato University

“Clearwater presents great opportunities and some challenges. We have the BMW New Zealand Open being played on the course in December, the first of a three-year tenure, while we, like many clubs, are looking to attract green fee players and new members. At the same time, we will provide greater service to our existing members and guests,” Crocker said.

“I have really enjoyed my time out here so far, getting to meet and mix with members and getting to fully understand the complexities of how Clearwater Resort operates.

“The course is in wonderful order and it is exciting to be part of a developing resort,” he said.
