New avocado-based products debut at 2011 Food Show -
For Immediate Release
15 July 2011 (Auckland) – Beginning this month Kiwis will be able to find fresh processed avocado in the chilled as well as the produce sections of their local supermarket. The Perfect Fruit Company, which is launching a range of New Zealand avocado-based products, including Vocado Avocado Pulp, Vocado Guacamole and Vocado Avocado Smoothies, hopes to make fresh avocado easier to buy, use and store.
“Avocados are one of nature’s perfect foods. They’re a real nutrient Superstar.” says Director Collin Elder. “But it’s not always easy to find absolutely ripe, great tasting ones when you need them. New packaging technology means our products are 100% natural and retain the delicious taste and nutrients of fresh avocados.”
Unlike packaging from Mother Nature, The Perfect Fruit Company’s transparent pouches allow consumers to see inside the avocado itself and be assured that the pulp is ripe and ready-to-use. The pouches are re-sealable so that a portion of it may be used up to seven days later (based on proper air expression and re-seal).
“Kiwis are increasingly seeking convenient,
ready-to-eat foods. We want to make sure they are tasty and
healthy as well.”
The new Vocado avocado range
includes:
- Avocado Pulp (RRP price $3.99 for
200g)
- Avocado Guacamole (RRP $3.99 for 200g)
- Avocado and Manuka Honey Smoothie (RRP $3.99 for
250g)
- Avocado, Orange and Honey Smoothie (RRP
$3.99 for 250g)

About Vocado
Vocado avocado products
are 100% made in New Zealand. The avocados come from the Bay
of Plenty where some of the world’s highest quality and
best tasting avocados are grown. Vocado avocados are packed
with nutrients like Vitamins K, A, B, C, and E, as well as
Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Biotin, and Folate.
They contain protein and fibre and are rich in minerals like
Copper, Magnesium and Manganese.
Vocado avocados go directly from pulp to pouch so that the innate qualities of the avocados are kept intact and 100% natural. When correctly stored the products are extremely stable and resist browning off or discolouring.
- Avocado Pulp - Vocado Avocado Pulp is an easy way to keep fresh avocado on hand any time.
