NZICT welcomes three new Board members

The New Zealand Information Communication Technology Group (NZICT) has appointed three new board members following its AGM last week.

The three new board members are CEO of Datacom Greg Davidson, IBM Marketing and Communications Manager Michael Friedberg and MD of Hewlett Packard NZ Keith Watson.

They replace outgoing board members Daryl French from IBM, Geoff Lawrie of Cisco and Geoff Hunt of Kordia.

NZICT Chair Bennett Medary said that it was great to see strong interest for board positions from such a high calibre of ICT leaders.

“These three individuals will bring a vast range of skills and experience to the board. We have a fantastic cross-section of representation from small, medium, large, NZ and multi-national members,” said Medary.

Two independent Board members, invited to join the Board for a term of one year, have now also stood down. They are David Stone from TCF and David Boyle, now with Ernst Young.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing board members, who have made a substantial contribution to NZICT,” said Medary.

NZICT’s inaugural CEO Brett O’Riley departed for a new role at the end of last week. The NZICT board is currently screening candidates for his replacement and expects to announce his successor in the coming weeks.

NZICT board members are:

Andrew Hunt (Kinetics)
Bennett Medary (Simpl)
Bob Pinchin (Swaytech)
Chris Quin (Gen-i)
Greg Davidson (Datacom)
Ian Clarke (Fronde)
Keith Watson (HP)
Michael Friedberg (IBM)
Paul Muckleston (Microsoft)
Richard Laverty (NZTE)
