Brumby’s brings new Brumby’s GO! brand to New Zealand

Hot on the heels of its acquisition of Evolution Coffee Roasters Group, leading Australian retail food brand manager and franchisor Retail Food Group Ltd is expanding its Brumby’s brand, opening the first Brumby’s GO! store in New Zealand.

Brumby’s GO! builds on the success of the Brumby’s Bakeries brand, using the same fresh-baked bread products to make filled baguettes and rolls, as well as offering hot savoury products, muffins, fresh coffee and cold drinks.

It offers customers fresh food fast, so they can enjoy the premium Brumby’s product for lunch and snacks, while out and about.

The Brumby’s Bakeries brand began in Australia in 1975, and now boasts 300 stores throughout Australia and New Zealand.

With 13 Brumby’s GO! stores in Australia, the time is now right to move the fresh food fast brand across the Tasman, and the first store will open in Whangaparaoa Plaza, north Auckland, September 9.

It will be the first of three Brumby’s GO! New Zealand stores planned to open before the end of the year. The next two will be in Dunedin and Christchurch.

RFG marketing manager Aimee Peterken says “New Zealand foodlovers want fresh, traditional baking methods and high-quality food – all of which are on offer at Brumby’s GO! We have matched the great food offering with excellent coffee too, which will please our nation of discerning coffee drinkers.”

“All the products are baked fresh on site each day using breads from our sister Brumby’s Bakery in Orewa and it complements the bakery offering. The Whangaparaoa store will also has plenty of seating, which is also a popular feature of the Brumby’s GO! Stores.”

In July this year Retail Food Group bought the New Zealand Evolution Coffee Roasters Group and earlier this year it acquired Esquires in New Zealand and Australia. The first Queensland Esquires outlet is planned to open in November.
In August Retail Food Group announced a 5.7% increase in net profit after tax (NPAT) to A$27.9m and an increased final dividend of A7.5cps.
