Ronald McDonald House South Island welcomes new General Manager
Ronald McDonald House South Island is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Jones as the charity’s new General Manager.
Emma was selected from a competitive field of 65 candidates, bringing enthusiasm and experience to the role – which is effective immediately.
Former chief executive Nickie Barlow resigned from her position in June, after a passionate and dedicated nine years with the House.
Emma, who was hired earlier this year as the charity’s Front of House Manager, has been fulfilling Nickie’s role until the recruitment process was completed this week.
Prior to joining Ronald McDonald House South Island, Emma was working as a Legal Advisor for Anthony Harper Lawyers in Christchurch.
The Trust is looking forward to working with Emma as it continues in its mission of providing a warm and welcoming ‘home away from home’ for families with children requiring hospital care in Christchurch.
“I am extremely honoured to lead such a fantastic organisation - one which is wholeheartedly committed to supporting families when they need it the most,” said Emma.
It will no doubt be a busy time ahead; with repair work soon to begin on the earthquake-damaged main wing, and an August 2012 target date for the opening of a new Ronald McDonald Family Room inside Christchurch Hospital.
However the Trust is confident that Emma has the passion and the skills to lead the House forward, sharing the same goal of making a difference.
