Nokia redefines smartphone simplicity with the launch of the Nokia N9

Auckland, New Zealand - 14 October 2011.


The much anticipated Nokia N9 is now available nationwide exclusively through Vodafone.

The sleek 16GB smartphone will come in black at a RRP of NZD $999.

The Nokia N9 combines great design with a new, easy-to-use interface and undoubtedly one of the best multitasking experiences of any smartphone available today.

With no home button, the Nokia N9 it is controlled entirely by touch and swipe gestures and focuses on the things people do most - use apps, socialise and multitask.

Nokia New Zealand's managing director, Chris Carr, said, "The Nokia N9 is all about design and simplicity. We wanted to cut through the clutter associated with traditional smartphone design to deliver a distinctive product that provides consumers with a genuine alternative in the market."

The first Nokia smartphone running on the MeeGo operating system, the Nokia N9 includes the latest audio, navigation and camera technology for a great all-round experience:
• 3.9-inch AMOLED panel with a ClearBlack display making the dark bits darker and the colours much more vivid
• 8-megapixel Carl Zeiss autofocus sensor, wide-angle lens, HD-quality video capture and large lens aperture enable great camera performance even in low light conditions
• A curved glass screen built using an advanced polycarbonate material for superior antenna performance. Reception and voice quality is also improved with fewer dropped calls
• Watch videos in true 16:9 widescreen format and enjoy surround sound experience with any type of headphone - the Nokia N9 comes with Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Headphone post-processing technology
• The latest Near Field Communication (NFC) wireless technology allows you to easily share images between devices. Pair it with accessories like the new NFC-enabled Nokia Play 360° wireless music speaker to get a great surround sound music experience with just a tap
• The Nokia N9 features free turn-by-turn drive and walk navigation with voice guidance in Maps. With the new dedicated Drive app, you can get in your car and start navigating to your destination right away

• Access to top social networking, entertainment and gaming apps through Nokia Store

The Nokia N9 will be available in 16 GB.
