Export collaboration adds value to NZ business

Export collaboration adds value to NZ business

The Ministry of Economic Development’s new Food and Beverage Information Project will help exporters collaborate and add value to their products.

According to Graham Stuart, CEO of Sealord, one of New Zealand’s largest seafood exporters, the project will help reduce barriers for exporters and ensure competition is focused where it should be – on the overseas market.

“New Zealand exporters should be helping one another take on the world and win. The Food and Beverage Information Project provides a valuable platform for this kind of collaboration by sharing insights into market opportunities,” says Stuart.

Sealord, like many local export companies, is focused on adding value to products to ensure maximum returns.

“Insights and business intelligence from the project will help bring New Zealand businesses closer to overseas markets and opportunities.

“Sealord has a valuable and finite resource and our focus is on growing our business by adding value and responding to customer needs, rather than chasing higher volumes of commodities,” says Stuart.

Reports released today as part of the Food and Beverage Information Project are at http://www.foodandbeverage.govt.nz
