Who's top of the law blog pops?

It's growing in popularity, but who's top of the law blog pops?
By John Bowie, NBR Briefcase - LawFuel.co.nz - Law Jobs, Law News - Law bloggers have increased for many commentators with more grey-haired baby boomers getting on board the business previously occupied largely by news geeks and acne-scarred techos and gamers who blog between illegal music downloads and bad food. So far as legal bloggers are concerned, there has been an encouraging tendency for senior lawyers to enter the fray.

I’ve mentioned Dr Jim Farmer with his new blog which, although not ranking heavily yet will undoubtedly hit its straps. So too is Kensington Swan’s Bryan Gundersen. However, based on just boring internet metrics, like page rank and Alexa rankings, who are the current top law bloggers?

1. Stephen Franks with his eclectic blog,
2. Stephen Price, with his Media Journal,
3. Otago University lecturer Andrew Geddis, who blogs as part of the larger Pundit blog, which skews the stats in his favour but his page nonetheless receives high popularity,
4. Victoria University’s Dean Knight and
5. Lowndes Jordan’s LawGeek blog, by Rich Shera.

More firms are attaching blogs to their sites, such as Whangarei’s Webb Ross, who keep a useful, updated blog relating to general law matters, and The Family Lawyer, from Selina Trigg at the large, Hamilton-based family law practice of Auckland’s Family Law Results firm.
