Club Med Phuket unaffected by flooding in Thailand

News Release

Club Med Phuket unaffected by flooding in Thailand

Auckland, November 10, 2011 – Club Med Phuket, located on an island off Thailand, is about to launch a fabulous new look and has thankfully been unaffected by recent flooding in the country.

Club Med New Zealand Marketing Manager Kaarin Gaukrodger says, "The resort is nearing the end of a stunning renovation that will be launched end of December for 2012. Thankfully due to the resort's island location away from the mainland it has been unaffected by the flooding in Thailand.

"Bangkok International Airport is operating as usual, the same with Phuket, so it's business as usual for Club Med guests."
Phuket is more than 800km away from the flooding affected areas in Thailand and the weather is hot and sunny as the island enters its high season.
Club Med Phuket will launch its stunning new look to guests at the end of December and the resort promises to ‘wow’ guests with the ‘Magic of Lights’ themed renovation, including a new-look spa, restaurant and bar areas.

In addition to the main restaurant there will be a new specialty restaurant, inspired by Thai lanterns. Other resort features include the addition of an adults only quiet pool area, which offers spectacular views of Kata Bay, comfortable pool recliners and gazebos.

Club Med Phuket is located on a fine-white sand beach providing access to a myriad of marine activities. The resort is just a short walk to local markets, a tuk-tuk ride to the bustling hub of Patong and a ferry ride to the pristine Phi Phi Island.

With Club Med’s all-inclusive package guests can indulge in as much or as little as they like, with the array of facilities on offer; 9-hole pitch and putt golf, yoga, cooking lessons, archery, flying trapeze, snorkelling trips and kids clubs.
