Historic Queenstown hotel Eichardt's introduces afternoon teas

Eichardt's Private Hotel in the heart of Queenstown is taking appreciation of the finer things in life to the highest level with the introduction of delicious Sunday afternoon teas.

The afternoon treats will be on the menu at the historic lakefront property from the start of summer, enabling those wishing to indulge in the ritual of 'taking tea' to choose to spend an afternoon in Eichardt's' new enclosed outdoor courtyard, or settle into a couch in the warm and stylish bar.

"Anyone is welcome to enjoy a truly delicious and rather refined afternoon tea, all while relaxing with a magnificent view overlooking Lake Wakatipu," said Eichardt's Private Hotel general manager Chris McIntosh.

"You simply can't beat our prime waterfront location, and the sheltered new courtyard, basking in late afternoon sunshine, is the place to be this summer.

"The teas are the perfect opportunity to celebrate a special occasion with friends, as a summer holiday highlight, or to treat a loved-one to a taste of bygone style and good taste."

The 'Eichardt's Garden Tea Party' tea will be served on an elegant three-tiered stand featuring an exquisite selection of dainty delights, all prepared daily by dedicated Eichardt's chefs.

The 'Signature Afternoon Tea' includes all the delights from the Garden Tea Party selection, including a glass of Deutz Prestige bubbly along with a hot item selection made freshly each afternoon by Executive Chef Gwen Harvie.

The 'Eichardt's Garden Tea Party' is $29 per person, while the 'Signature Afternoon Tea' is $39 per person.
