Superyacht Marketing Forum to prepare industry for the future
The Superyacht Marketing Forum 2011(SMF) is set to shake up and wake up the industry. It will see new formats designed to bring a fresh and creative look at marketing as well as put current and future techniques under the microscope.
Held from 1-2 December 2011 at Altitude 360 in London, the event which is hosted by Superyacht Events, part of The Superyacht Group, is set to attract 150 of the industry's top marketing minds.
SMF will present select topics from the marketing spectrum with a critical eye in order to re-evaluate their worth and purpose. In 'Examination of new media and technology' for example, delegates will navigate through the maze of today and tomorrow's new media options. They will then be invited to consider vital questions such as, is their target audience influenced by these new mediums? Is the superyacht industry ripe and ready to embrace these techniques at all?
Another item under analysis will be industry boat shows. These global events are the largest gatherings of industry professionals and therefore make up a large part of any company's marketing budget. SMF will generate discussion on, for example, the value of exhibiting at shows in emerging markets and how to maximize ROI at them. The interactive session will result in a vision for building better boat shows for the future.
A new and exciting format for SMF is the 'Blank Canvas Workshop'. In groups of ten, delegates will create their own marketing campaign to present to the audience. Set to work on a case study of a hypothesized new company's marketing plan, delegates will be assigned one area of the discipline to produce their plans. Assisted by an expert mentor, areas will include branding and positioning, target markets, CRM, public relations and online activity. Created on the spur of the moment with the opportunity to let loose on innovation and creativity, the plans are set to introduce new ideas and generate discussion over what could really be implemented back at the office.
Martin Redmayne, Chairman of The Superyacht Marketing Forum, said:
"Never has there been a better time to deliver this unique event. Now more than ever we need to broaden our horizons, learn more about the fields we work in and think outside the box. The entire focus will be on the future and how to prepare for and react to the next 18 months. I know that anyone attending will get great value out of the two days and we look forward to welcoming delegates from across the globe."
Day one, December 1, will culminate in The Superyacht Marketing Dinner. It remains the only industry Christmas party that brings the industry together for networking, dinner and fun at the end of a very busy year!
