Online Retailers Ready for Action on Cyber Monday
Online Retailers Ready for Action on Cyber Monday
Today is Cyber Monday, the world’s biggest ever online shopping day. Across the USA, UK Europe and Canada, Monday November 28th signifies the official start of the holiday shopping season and New Zealand is no different.
Major online traders worldwide go on sale for today offering huge discounts for savvy online shoppers, including Belly Beyond - New Zealand’s award winning online shopping portal for all things maternity and baby.
Based on their experience of 2010, founders of Belly Beyond, (www.bellybeyond.co.nz) Louisa Currie and Heidi Riley have really championed the concept of Cyber Monday in New Zealand and believe other online retailers should follow their lead.
“From our perspective, Belly Beyond received a huge amount of local and international traffic from Cyber Monday, we subsequently traded more than a month’s worth of business in just three days,” said Louisa.
In 2010 Cyber Monday cracked $1 billion in online shopping sales, an increase of 16 percent from 2009. In 2011 Cyber Monday is shaping up to push the boundaries once again and become the largest online trading day in online history.
“This year with a database three times the size and a much bigger range of suppliers to choose from, who’ve really bought into the concept, we’re expecting big things,” said Louisa.
“We encourage all New Zealand traders to join us and make today a hugely successful online trading day!”
