NZ Defence Force Contract for ILX

MEDIA RELEASE

1 December, 2011

NZ Defence Force Contract for ILX

ILX Group (ILX), one of the world’s leading technology training companies, has secured a project management training contract with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) to deliver training in the PRINCE2 method.

The two-year contract includes the Ministry of Economic Development’s endorsed syndication provision, which allows eligible government agencies in NZ to utilise the services provided by ILX without the need to go through the procurement process.

NZDF Procurement Specialist Stefan Jurczenko said, “PRINCE2 is the preferred training method for many government departments throughout the world. The contract with ILX will enable a single consistent project management methodology across NZDF. It also reduces our external training providers from 63 to two, which will represent a significant cost reduction. Eligible government agencies across NZ will also have access to this training to further strengthen program and project management capabilities.”

Michelle Phillips, ILX Group Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand, said, “The NZDF contract is the largest training contract that ILX has secured in the Asia Pacific region, further accelerating our plans to gain significant market share in this area. The contract also gives the company access to eligible government agencies across NZ. This is a major achievement for us.”

“ILX currently has an office in Auckland and plans to open another office in Wellington early next year to service the NZDF contract and other clients in the region. We are increasing investment in NZ as the company can see major growth opportunities for our services.”

“Over 70 per cent of ILX’s current client base in NZ comes from the government sector. This sector has demonstrated a strong preference for the types of program and project management courses we deliver,” she added.

“ILX’s business has experienced substantial growth in the government sector in the UK and Australia as a direct result of recommendations contained in Sir Peter Gershon’s reports that were undertaken in these countries. NZ government departments have also pursued introduction of universal training qualifications across their departments for senior personnel thereby achieving the significant cost savings associated with this initiative. This has positively impacted on the take up of ILX courses in this country.”

ILX entered the New Zealand market four years ago and currently provides services to the Ministry of Transport, NZ Transport Agency, State Services Commission, Department of Conservation, Auckland City Council and the Accident Compensation Corporation.

ILX is one of the largest providers of PRINCE2 qualifications across the world. The company is known globally as a company that delivers cutting-edge training solutions, often blending classroom and e-learning in a flexible and dynamic technology environment.

The company’s flexibility of delivery, course pass rates and focus on customer service has provided the platform for ILX’s ongoing success and expansion. The innovative use of technology in training has given ILX some of the industry’s highest examination pass rates.

The company currently services over 5,000 clients across 97 countries.
