RWC 2011 – the gift that keeps on giving
Executive Summary
There’s been plenty of well-deserved celebration over our triumph in the RWC 2011, but the best things come to those who wait.
To sweeten the taste of victory, October’s Reserve Bank of New Zealand credit card figures show a clear economic win in the form of a sustained influx of inbound spending.
Purchases in New Zealand on overseas issued cards for October 2011 leapt to $319 million, a figure 23% higher than October 2010.
The strength of that number is further underlined by the fact that it immediately followed September’s increase in inbound credit card spending to $289 million, a boost of 25% over September 2010.
