CIPSA announces appointment of New Zealand Regional Chairs

The Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Australasia (CIPS Australasia) is delighted to announce that it has appointed Chris Morgan as Chair and Geoff Mayman (Christchurch), Mark Ansell MCIPS (Wellington) and Fiona Nissen (Auckland) as Vice Chairs of its New Zealand regional committee.

The prestigious Chair and Vice Chair positions are appointed on a biennial basis following a thorough selection process, to ensure that, along with meeting the other selection criteria, the leadership team of each regional chapter has an appropriate balance of skills and experience.

Chris, Geoff, Mark and Fiona will help lead local efforts to support CIPS Australasia in building procurement communities across New Zealand. As well as working closely alongside CIPSA to help individuals in New Zealand to improve their professional knowledge and skills in procurement.

“We welcome Chris, Geoff, Mark and Fiona to the extended CIPSA team. The success of this Institutes regional branches in building „procurement communities is almost entirely due to the selfless hard work of its committee members, led by the Chair and Vice Chair,” commented CIPSA Managing Director Jonathan Dutton.

“Chris, Geoff, Mark and Fiona have dedicated their time and expertise to serving their communities, without benefit to themselves. They are a credit to our profession and their efforts are fully appreciated by the Institute and its members.”

CIPS is the peak global body for those engaged in the procurement and supply chain profession and provides a wide range of services for the benefit of its members and the wider business community. There are eight Regional Committees covering Australia and New Zealand.

“Procurement is the fastest growing profession in business and Australian companies are increasingly recognising the tangible benefits and better commercial outcomes that professional procurement practice brings, and our research shows that eight out of 10 of the largest ASX-listed companies now have a CIPSA member on their team,” Dutton continued.

“CIPSA has experienced incredible growth across Australasia, and our member-base has risen by 22% in the last 12 months alone to nearly 4500 – from a base of only 88 members when we started operations in Australia in 2005. This growth trend is being felt globally, with CIPS membership now standing at more than 65,000 members worldwide.”
