Get Home Safer This Silly Season

Get Home Safer This Silly Season

Auckland, 5 December 2011 - Kiwis will get home safer this silly season thanks to retailer Super Liquor’s innovative promotion to extend their Super Bucks vouchers for use in taxis.

This is the first partnership between a major liquor retailer and a nationwide taxi network, and Super Liquor is proud to be taking a leadership role in the industry.

Martin Bremner, Chief Operating Officer of Super Liquor Holdings says for every $50 spent at Super Liquor, customers will receive a $5 Super Bucks voucher to use with a participating TaxiCharge taxi firm or to redeem in-store.

“We’re committing $300,000 to this initiative. We want to encourage people heading home from their work party, family Christmas lunch or summer bbq to make a wise decision and catch a cab. Over 23 taxi companies are participating as TaxiCharge partners, meaning customers in nearly every town serviced by our 150 stores will have access to a safe travel option.

“Super Liquor is a cooperative group and our franchisee shareholders are small businesses operating throughout New Zealand. Along with their many local sponsorships, this is another opportunity for store owners to make a community contribution,” says Mr Bremner.

Customers have until 15 January 2012 to use their vouchers, and Super Liquor expects the redemption of Super Bucks to be higher than last year now that taxis have been added as an option.

Martin Bremner says: “We’ll get full reporting back from TaxiCharge and we look forward to seeing how many safe trips home have been taken by our customers thanks to their Super Bucks vouchers.

“We take our harm minimisation responsibilities seriously as a major liquor retailer. This initiative shows we are really walking, or should that be cabbing, the talk.”
