Aaron Bilcich is appointed as the new winemaker at Soljans Estate Winery
Kiwi winemaker Aaron Bilcich has been appointed as the new winemaker at Kumeu’s Soljans Estate Winery.
Coming to Soljans from Matakana Estate, Aaron joined the Soljans team at the end of November 2011.
After catching the winemaking bug while working at a small winery in Melbourne he decided to return home and complete a degree in Viticulture and Oenology from Lincoln University. Aaron began making wine at Huia Vineyards in Marlborough before spending two years as Assistant Winemaker at the prestigious Dry River Estate in Martinborough.
Aaron brings valuable experiences to Soljans, and Managing Director Tony Soljan is very pleased to have him on board.
“Soljans wines are gaining momentum in many overseas markets, particularly in China and this is a very exciting time within the company for increasing volumes of our estate produced wines” says Tony. “Aaron’s arrival at Soljans is the next chapter in our long winemaking history, and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
