Haier Pulse Chairman Nigel Kirkpatrick Announces his Resignation
The Haier Pulse has paid tribute to Chairman Nigel Kirkpatrick, who has resigned after three years at the helm.
Board member Ian Collier described Kirkpatrick’s contribution to the ANZ Championship franchise as “invaluable” and explained that he had been a major force behind the improvement in the team’s fortunes.
“We are extremely grateful for the major contribution he has made since 2008. In recent months he has overseen the recruitment of a world class coach in Robyn Broughton, along with some of the country’s leading players. We are now ideally placed to build on the platform that Nigel and others have helped to put in place both on and off the court.”
Kirkpatrick’s decision comes at a time of significant promise for the Haier Pulse. “I am confident that the work we have done over the past few months holds us in good stead for a solid 2012 season. The players, coaches, management and board are all firmly focused on taking the Haier Pulse to a new level,” Kirkpatrick said.
Kirkpatrick’s tenure will finish in the new year, with the Haier Pulse board meeting in December due to appoint his replacement.
