Orion to lose the equivalent of one full time staff member
Orion will lose the equivalent of one full time employee when its after-hours contract with the Christchurch City Council ceases next month (February 2012).
As a
result of the council contract ending, the work load in the
Orion contact centre will drop by approximately 40 hours per
week. This will see the company lose six part time
employees. Three have resigned and three have taken
voluntary redundancy.
There are currently 15 contact
centre staff.
The company offered all of the
employees' alternative shifts in the contact centre.
However, these shifts did not suit three of the individuals
and they subsequently chose voluntary
redundancy.
Orion will likely need to recruit some
additional staff to cover all shifts
