New Aviation Appointment at ATTTO

Experienced aeronautical engineer and former United Nations trainer, John Cassidy, has been appointed as the Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation’s (ATTTO’s) new Industry Training Advisor.

John spent over 20 years working for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF), before joining the United Nations. He has recently returned from Haiti, where he served as United Nations Projects, Planning and Training Manager for the Aviation Section.

John has a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering, Aeronautics, and an Associate Diploma of Engineering, Aerospace Systems. He joins ATTTO’s existing team of aviation industry experts and will work closely with Senior Industry Training Advisor Dave Evans.

ATTTO Chief Executive Kathy Wolfe says John brings a breadth of experience in the aviation sector, as well as a passion for helping people reach their potential through training.

John replaces Wilton Wilton, who left ATTTO in December to take up a position at Airwork (NZ) Ltd. Based in Auckland, John will work with aviation industry employers from across the North Island.

ATTTO supports training for more than 60 aviation employers across New Zealand, including the RNZAF, Air New Zealand and Airways. ATTTO aviation qualifications span aeronautical engineering, air traffic services, ground operations, aeronautical storekeeping, passenger services, risk management and safety management systems, and aeroplane/helicopter pilot qualifications.
