Hooked on Seafood to sell 1000 $1 fresh fish portions online
19 January 2012
Hook a $1 fish deal online on 25 January – Hooked on Seafood to sell 1,000 fresh fish portions online for just $1 each
Hoping to encourage more people to increase their Omega 3 intake, Hooked on Seafood is selling 1,000 fish portions for just $1 per 150 gram serving on Wednesday 25 January.
The fish can be ordered and paid for online at www.hookedonseafood.co.nz from 8.30am and will be ready to be picked up from the Hooked on Seafood store in front of Wellington Railway Station from 4pm the same day. The service focuses on convenience – simple to order, fast to pick up, and easy to follow recipes.
Grant Absalmon, operations manager for Hooked on Seafood, said, “People are leading increasingly busy lives, combining work and family, and a healthy diet is often forsaken. We want to help people to have a healthy, yet convenient dinner.
“And even better, they get to try it for $1 per portion. So it’s an extremely low-cost dinner option too.”
On the day, buyers will be able to choose from up to three different fish species that can be prepared in three ways – natural, crumbed, or with one of the company’s Garnish to Go marinades. These selections are made during the ordering process.
For shoppers who purchase the Garnish to Go option, the fillets are packed in an innovative bag that is oven ready, making it an easy, convenient and mess-free dinner option.
The fish are then freshly prepared to order at a dedicated facility in Lorne Street before being delivered to the Hooked on Seafood store, ready for people to pick up on the way home.
The fish species that will be on sale on Wednesday will depend on the freshest available catch the company’s boats will have brought in.
The $1 deal is offered on 1,000 servings of a minimum of 150 grams each and there is a limit of three servings per order. The online shop opens at 8.30am on the 25th January and closes at 12.30pm, or once the 1,000 servings have been sold. This deal is only available for online orders.
Mr Absalmon added, “Fish is an important food for any diet, it’s a great source of protein, vitamins and good oils that are essential for good health. Research suggests people don’t eat fish more often because they are wary of it. They are uncertain of how to cook it correctly and are afraid of getting it wrong. We want to change that by making it easy and hope people will use the website to see how simple fish meal options can be.
“We’re giving people the chance to see just how easy it can be to eat healthily, and how convenient it can be too, for just $1. And if you choose Garnish to Go, you can’t get much easier than just picking up a bag on the way home from work, putting it in the oven and simply waiting for it to cook. The hardest part will be decided what to have with your fish!”
