Diesel Prices Fall Again at BP

BP has again dropped the price of diesel today by 3 cents per litre today. This is the second drop in diesel prices in a week at BP-owned stores.

Diesel prices at most BP-owned service stations are:

Regular Diesel 149.9 cents per litre
Ultimate Diesel 150.9 cents per litre

BP New Zealand managing director Mike McGuinness said: “This is the second diesel drop we have led in a week, with a total drop in diesel prices of eight cents per litre since last Thursday. Recent drops in the international price of refined diesel and recent strengthening of the New Zealand dollar has allowed us to pass this saving on to our customers.”

BP monitored costs daily and was pleased to be able to pass on savings to its customers.

“Pump prices are made up of a number of factors, including the international price of product the US/NZ exchange rate, and taxes and levies. We monitor these costs all the time and we’re committed to passing on any decreases in those costs to motorists as quickly as possible,” Mr McGuinness said.

Petrol prices at most sites remain unchanged. “The international price of petrol has actually been trending upwards, but we’ve been able to hold prices because of the strengthening New Zealand dollar,” Mr McGuinness said.

NOTES:
There are over 100 independently-owned BP service stations in New Zealand. They buy their fuel off BP at a wholesale price and by law must set their own pump prices.
