Promotions
Simpson Grierson is delighted to
announce eight promotions to senior associate, twelve to
associate and two to legal executive associate.
All eight
senior associates are based in the Auckland office and their
specialities are detailed below.
Amy Johns joined Simpson Grierson's commercial property group in 2010 and advises on all areas of commercial property including commercial leasing, retail leasing, acquisitions and disposals, property aspects of finance transactions and due diligence investigations. Prior to joining the firm, Amy worked in London and also has several years' specialist property experience in New Zealand.
Corina Faesenkloet advises local authorities, as well as the private sector, on a wide range of resource management, environmental law, and local government issues. She appears before the Environment Court and the High Court on resource consent, district plan, and designation appeals.
Kelly
Williams joined Simpson Grierson's transactional
banking and finance group in 2005 after working for another
Auckland law firm and overseas. She advises banks on a wide
range of banking and lending matters, including property
financing, corporate and business banking, agri-business
transactions and retirement village structures.
Marie Harrison specialises in
dispute resolution with a particular focus on construction
and competition litigation. She regularly acts for builders,
principals and local authorities on construction disputes
and also advises on competition and fair trading issues.
Matt Smith joined Simpson Grierson's commercial group in 2007 and spent part of 2010/2011 on secondment at a London law firm. He advises on a wide range of commercial contracts and information and communications technology (ICT) regulatory matters.
Nick Wilson advises on all areas of commercial property including acquisitions and disposals, leasing, licensing, public infrastructure projects, transport and local authority matters. He joined Simpson Grierson in 2010 after returning from London where he worked at a large international firm.
Philip Shackleton is a specialist litigator in the banking and finance department. He advises on all forms of banking, finance and insolvency litigation, including liquidations and receiverships and regularly appears before the courts at all levels.
Tim Fischer advises on
resource management and local government matters including
subdivision, land use and property development,
infrastructure projects, plan making and designations. He
joined the firm in 2007 and has been practising resource
management and local government law since 2003.
