Rendezvous Hotel Christchurch Reopening Delayed
The Rendezvous Hotel Christchurch will not be opening tomorrow as planned.
The central city hotel was due to open on March 1. However, the building owners have engaged engineers to recheck the Pacific Tower property, to ensure the December 23 earthquakes have not compromised the structural integrity of the building.
These additional checks unfortunately mean the 171-room hotel, operated by the Rendezvous Hospitality Group, will not be able to open as planned on Thursday.
“The postponement is necessary and the first priority must be public safety,” says Rendezvous Hotel Christchurch general manager Brad Watts.
Guests who are booked into the hotel have been appraised of the situation and assisted with alternative accommodation as required.
A further media advisory will be issued once more information is available as to when the hotel will be opened.
