READY FOR THE WEATHER
Auckland Stopover organisers are battening down the Race Village building site ready for the severe weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
More than seventy contractors are hard at work building the range of temporary structures that make up the Race Village in the Viaduct area.
"We are working with all our contractors to ensure that the site is prepared for whatever the weather brings," says Port Director Tom Mayo. "In addition, we are taking down signage and parts of other structures, reviewing every structure and adjusting the Race Village build schedule."
The Race Village is scheduled to open at 9am on Thursday 8 March.
