Webb's Modern Design in partnership with Mr Bigglesworthy

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Webb's presents Modern Design in partnership with Mr Bigglesworthy

This year will see the debut of Webb’s partnership with Mr Bigglesworthy to present stand-alone sales of modern design with a particular focus on World War II era through to the 1970's.

Dan and Emma of Mr. Bigglesworthy love the promise and potential of design . Their collection is a culmination of their passions and knowledge and shared love of modern design and Webb's Modern Design auction to be held on 29 March isn’t just an offering of chairs dusted off from nana’s lounge; it’s a showcase of some of the finest international design to emerge from the post war era up until the 1970s. The collection tells a story of modernist ideals by design ers who sought to break with tradition and unearth new possibilities. The auction presents objects from a host of international design ers such as Grant Featherston, Arne Jacobsen, Hans Olsen and Jens Risom alongside New Zealand standouts Ernst Plischke and Garth Chester. If you’re looking for one of the mass produced, cloned-to-death mid century design s you’ll be thoroughly disappointed. The collection features a handpicked selection of rare and unique pieces, creating a narrative that spans from the early utilitarian furniture of the post war era to the deluxe rosewood and chrome that defined the 1970s.
