Petrol Prices Tipped To Soar Over
Easter
Travelers may have already missed out on the chance to fill up the car before the Easter break, with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au framing a market on the average cost of petrol prices ahead of the long weekend.
Petrol to be between $1.50-$1.55 per litre is the favourite outcome at $1.22, with $1.55-$1.60 next in the market at $5.00.
While drivers can take comfort in the fact that they won’t have to pay over $1.60 per litre, priced at $41, they shouldn’t expect any bargains, with below $1.45 the outsider in the market at $51.
“If you haven’t filled up already it may be too late according to our market,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
“It would be a nice surprise over the long weekend if prices would drop below $1.45, but the market indicates there is virtually no chance with travelers expected to pay top dollar as per usual over the Easter break.”
