LocatingUs Launches mobiEvac

LocatingUs Launches mobiEvac

mobiEvac is the world first mobile app that integrates visitor, contractor, staff presence, and people safety verification. It allows Evacuation Marshals to use their mobile device and account for the safety of people that have evacuated their building or site.

Immediately after an evacuation alarm, Evacuation Marshals can use their iPhone, Android, iPad, laptop, or Blackberry device to access a list of all people on-site at the time of the evacuation event – and verify their safety.

“Our company is focussed on the safety and security of people in organizations. We are continually looking for ways to provide tools to help our customers understand who is allowed on-site, who is actually on-site now, and who was on-site. This knowledge is crucial in an evacuation as the security and safety teams can identify exactly who was on site. This allows them to comply with Health and Safety, and Evacuation of Building Regulations,” says Whitaker-Barnett the founder of Locating Us.

mobiEvac comes bundled as an Add-on feature for users of the WhosOnLocation.com People Presence service. However organisations not requiring the WhosOnLocation service can sign up for a mobiEvac license for just $1 a day per building or site by requesting a demo.

Paul Blum, Director of Devereux-Blum Training and Development, a leading provider of emergency management training services says, “With the launch of mobiEvac, LocatingUs addresses the problem many evacuation plans do not consider; how to actually verify the safety of people and identify those not accounted for.”

The recent Christchurch Earthquakes, tsunamis in Japan, flooding in Australia and Fiji, as well as the thousands of evacuation events daily, are evidence that a solution is needed.

“Recent tragedies have highlighted the inability of organizations to quickly and accurately confirm to the emergency services who is, and who is not accounted for immediately after an evacuation event. Evacuating a building and doing a floor clearance works well in a dry run, but in real emergencies that all goes out the door” says Whitaker-Barnett.
The company’s new mobiEvac solution will go a long way towards solving a real problem for organizations - verifying the safety of their people from outside the situation of risk.
