Business ‘Insight’ Challenge Puts ‘not-for-profits’ to test

Business ‘Insight’ Challenge Puts ‘not-for-profits’ to the Test

As the quest to find New Zealand’s most fuel efficient company behind the wheel reaches fever pitch, a group of seven well known not-for-profit organisations are gearing up to test their thrifty driving.

We’ve already witnessed an impressive display of efficient driving from a range of New Zealand businesses including the top telecom brands and media titles, now it’s time for some of our ‘not-for-profits’ to battle it out in the 2012 Honda Business Insight Challenge.

Drivers from Trees for Survival, Fair Trade Association, Nga Uruora Kapiti Project, Kaipatiki Project, Sustainable Business Network and Forest & Bird, will go head-to-head this weekend to prove their efficiency behind the wheel.

The 2012 Honda Business Insight Challenge sees nominated drivers from participating companies test their thrifty driving behind the wheel of a Honda Insight - New Zealand's most effective car to run in 2010 and Supreme Winner in the 2010 AA Energywise Rally. Drivers collect their Insight from a Honda showroom on a Friday afternoon and after a weekend of efficient motoring, return the car on the Monday, to discover their average fuel consumption for the weekend and placing on the Honda Business Insight leader board.

With efficient driving efforts from all contenders to date, Alex Johnston, from 0800 Save Energy, tops the Honda Business Insight leaderboard with an impressive fuel consumption rate of 3.9 litres per 100km.

Costing 40% less to run than the average hatch, the Insight has the perfect credentials for use in an eco-drive challenge.

Entrance into the challenge is now closed, but Honda is accepting applications from businesses wanting to take part later in the year, from all sectors and from all corners of the country. So, why not throw down the challenge to your competitors, suppliers or even customers. The winning company will be awarded the Honda Business Insight trophy and the kudos of being New Zealand’s most fuel efficient company behind the wheel.

To enter the next Honda Business Insight Challenge, simply email your business name, city, contact person, contact phone number, nominated driver and details of any company you would like to challenge to, business.insight@honda.co.nz or enter via the tab on the Honda Facebook page at www.facebook.co.nz/HondaNZ.
