Media Release

May 7, 2012

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises offer free Balcony cabin upgrade and US$350 onboard credit with new exclusive deals for New Zealand guests

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises are offering two fantastic deals exclusively for New Zealand guests on their “premier ships” in summer 2012-13. Offers include up to US$350 onboard credit per stateroom on Australasia’s highest rated superliner, Celebrity Solstice, and free upgrades from Oceanview to Balcony staterooms on Queensland cruises onboard Radiance of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas.

Book a Balcony Stateroom on Celebrity Solstice and get $US350 onboard Credit

To celebrate the maiden season Down Under of Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Cruises is offering US$350 onboard credit for guests who book a balcony stateroom on 12-night cruises from Auckland to Sydney on January 4, 2013 and March 16, 2013 and for 12-night cruises from Sydney to Auckland departing on January 16, 2013 and March 3, 2013. But guests need to be quick, as this offer ends on May 31, 2012.

The Auckland to Sydney cruise offers a range of port calls down the East Coast of New Zealand, and then visits Milford, Doubtful and Dusky Sounds, before cruising to Hobart and completing the cruise with an overnight stay in Sydney. The Sydney to Auckland cruise also includes an overnight stay in Sydney and then calls at Melbourne, the three Fiordland Sounds, before visiting Dunedin, Akaroa, Wellington, Tauranga and ending the cruise in Auckland.

Examples of stateroom prices range from $3,259* for a Balcony stateroom to $3,399 for an AquaClass stateroom.

Launched only three years ago, Celebrity Solstice will be the youngest superliner to be based in the Australasian region and according to industry bible, Berlitz Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships **, she will also be the highest rated cruise ship to be based in New Zealand. Celebrity Solstice brings a number of “first” to local cruising, including the Lawn Club, with half an acre of freshly manicured real grass on the upper decks; and a glass blowing studio. Celebrity Cruises is frequently rated as the world’s best premium cruise line.

Free Upgrade on Rhapsody of the Seas and Radiance of the Seas

Royal Caribbean is offering a free upgrade from Oceanview to Balcony stateroom for a 10-night Queensland Delights cruise on Radiance of the Seas which departs on December 20, 2012 and April 9, 2012, as well as on an 11-night Tropical Queensland cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas, departing on December 7, 2012, February 18, 2013 and March 23, 2013. All cruises sail roundtrip from Sydney.

Both of these “premier ships” have recently been given multi-million dollar makeovers, and been fitted with a range of new amenities and upgrades, including upgraded cabins and new restaurants.

Prices range from $2,279 for an interior stateroom on Radiance of the Seas to $2,599 for an Oceanview stateroom, with the lure of being upgraded for the same price to a Balcony stateroom. Prices for the Tropical Queensland cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas range from $1,429 for an interior stateroom, to $1,949 for an oceanview stateroom, again with the opportunity of a free upgrade from an Oceanview to a Balcony stateroom. But hurry, as this enticing offer also end on May 31, 2012.
