Gen-i Appointed to All-of-Government Mobile Services Procurement Panel

Mobile voice and data services contract will deliver cost savings and increase productivity of frontline agencies
 
Auckland, 8 May 2012 - Gen-i today announced it has been appointed to the All-of-Government (AoG) Mobile procurement panel as a provider of mobile voice and data services to public sector agencies. The contract replaces Gen-i’s existing syndicated mobile agreement, first signed in 2005, and will provide government organisations with access to a broad range of mobile devices and management solutions that will increase productivity through the delivery of mobile applications and services to frontline agencies.
 
Part of the Ministry of Economic Development’s AoG procurement programme, and administered by the Department of Internal Affairs, the AoG Mobile panel will deliver cost savings to the government and taxpayers by harnessing the collective buying power of its 219 agencies, 78 councils and 2,500 schools across New Zealand.
 
The contract will also improve business efficiency and productivity by streamlining and simplifying the purchasing process for agencies and eliminating the need to issue and review multiple tenders. 
 
Greg Mikkelsen, GM Enterprise Clients, said that the appointment recognises Gen-i’s success in delivering mobility solutions that meet the distinct requirements of government while helping to transform and strengthen their ICT capabilities.

Mikkelsen confirmed Gen-i’s support of the government’s initiatives to improve its procurement process to deliver better value, quality of service and sustainability of its ICT solutions and services.
 
“Gen-i recognises government as a single vertical market. Our tailored mobility solutions will scale to enable government to unlock larger savings as more agencies come on board, providing better value for investment and year on year cost savings,” said Mikkelsen.
 
Gen-i was appointed to the All-of-Government Mobile panel following a competitive tender that commenced in October 2011. The AoG panel agreement is effective 23 April and covers 3 years, with the option to extend for 2 additional years.
 
The AoG Mobile contract is an extension of Gen-i’s procurement relationship with the government that includes its appointment to the All-of-Government laptop and desktop procurement panel for the supply of Lenovo computers, Phillips monitors and Apple products. Gen-i also provides leased laptops to primary and secondary schools across New Zealand, as part of a Ministry of Education contract with Telecom Rentals.
 
Gen-i also has over 100 Government agencies using one or more of its Tahi all-of-government solutions which include voice, conferencing, data, security and record management products and services.
