Gen-i Appointed to IT Managed Services Panel

Gen-i Appointed to IT Managed Services Panel for Ministry of Primary Industries

Auckland, 15 May 2012 – Gen-i today announced it has been appointed to the procurement panel for the provision of IT managed services led by the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI). The syndicated panel provides public sector agencies with a standardised approach for procuring IT services that will reduce complexity, increase efficiency and deliver costs savings. The agreement covers the provision of service aggregation, service desk support, user device support, server support, procurement services, database management and other IT services.

Chris Quin, CEO of Gen-i Australasia, said “Gen-i’s inclusion in the panel marks a new level of sophistication in the provisioning of IT services to the government. By enabling standardisation, we’ve created a highly efficient platform for rolling out IT projects and services throughout the public sector.”

Quin added that the procurement panel will improve business efficiency and productivity by streamlining and simplifying the purchasing process for agencies and eliminating the need to issue and review multiple tenders.

“We are pleased to have been appointed to the panel and we’re committed to supporting the government by providing ICT solutions that enable it to respond more quickly, effectively and efficiently to the needs of New Zealanders. We’ve invested in the processes and people required to deliver standardised services, which will result in better value and quality of service across agencies,” said Quin.

Gen-i also provides leased laptops to primary and secondary schools across New Zealand, as part of a Ministry of Education contract with Telecom Rentals.

Gen-i also has over 100 Government agencies using one or more of its Tahi all-of-government solutions which include voice, conferencing, data, security and record management products and services.
