Trinity Wharf Limited Elects to Trade as an Independent Hotel
From the 26 June 2012, ‘The Sebel Trinity Wharf Tauranga’ will be managed as an independent hotel and trade under a new name – ‘Trinity Wharf Tauranga’.
Local owners, Geoff and Shelley Payne have elected to terminate the management contract with Mirvac Hotels & Resorts who, in December 2011 announced that their 46-hotel portfolio was to be acquired by Accor, subject to consent from New Zealand’s Overseas Investment Office.
“We have been pleased to have had our hotel operated under the Sebel brand for the last five and a half years. However, we have decided to operate the hotel independent of a hotel management group. Despite the change in our management agreement, locally-based staff will remain at the hotel and continue to be an integral part of the business” said Geoff Payne, Owner and Director of Trinity Wharf Limited.
“Our vision has always been to develop a waterfront urban-retreat that captures the very essence of genuine New Zealand hospitality and has plenty of personality. We are very excited about all the opportunities this new direction provides” Geoff Payne concluded.
