Liftie Brings Ski Industry Dynamic Pricing to New Zealand
The soon to launch website www.liftie.co.nz is set to offer great deals for customers and a unique toolset for ski resorts.
www.liftie.co.nz is an innovative new platform and online solutions that allows ski resorts to employ dynamic pricing. Our platform empowers resorts with the technology to adjust prices easily and react to changes in demand and weather or snow conditions. Because lift tickets purchased through Liftie are date specific and non refundable this gives ski resorts the ability to safely discount specific days without compromising busy days. Resorts have their own backend access and retain total control to manage inventory in terms of quantity available and price listed through the Liftie channel.
For a customer it is kind of like buying a cheap flight through “Grab A Seat”. They give up an element of flexibility by committing to skiing a specific day at a specific price, inturn they receive a discount incentive for this commitment. Because products sold through Liftie are limited and batched into pricing tiers a customer needs to “lock in” their lift ticket to guarantee that price. Much like buying a cheap flight you can check back later to find the ticket price may have changed or be sold out. We teach customers that the price to wait when buying a lift pass has an associated cost. We are providing customers with the incentive to stretch their ski budget and get on the hill more often.
We have had significant interest in our platform and from launch will represent resort partners in both the North and South Islands along with Heliski operators in the Central Lakes region. We will be certainly looking to add more in the forthcoming weeks as resorts open for the winter.
