New Zealand part of Worldwide Sonos Sub release

FORIMMEDIATE RELEASE

New Zealand part of Worldwide Sonos Sub release

Sonos, the leading manufacturer of wireless music systems, is set to release its latest product marvel, the Sonos Sub in New Zealand, as part of a worldwiderelease.

Hot on the heels of the Sonos and Spotify partnership in New Zealand, Sonos New Zealand’s Jason Lake today announced says the new Sonos Sub will arrive towards the end of June, as part of a world-wide release.

Sonos systems create a wireless network that streams internet radio stations, Internet music services and PC-stored music to other wireless HiFi speaker systems throughout a building.

Already international reviewers that have had a demo have raved about the design and experience from the SUB and its clear, deep, all digital sound along with the simplicity of set up.

Onereviewer states Sonos as the “the Apple of sound systems”.

The SUB will firstly be available in a high-gloss black lacquer finish for $1599 in New Zealand with a black matt finish being released later in the year.

“Like all of our products, our new SUB is designed from the inside out by Sonos.

The new SUB will fill any room with thick layers of bottomless sound that let you hear and feel the weight of every chord, kick, splash and roll,” Mr Lake says.

Features of the Sonos SUB include:

Two force-cancelling speakers positioned face-to-face: All the sound and energy from the music comes through loud and clear, and none of it is lost in cabinet buzz or rattle.
All digital sound: All filter settings, active equalization and time alignment are done digitally through state-of-the-art DSP (Digital Signal Processing) circuitry for zero-loss audio quality and energy.
Dual acoustic ports: Tuned to maximize the acoustic volume of the SUB and enhance bass resonance.

Powering the SUB are two state of the art digital amplifiers that have been perfectly tuned to match the speakers and acoustic architecture. The cabinet is made from proprietary resin to create acoustically dead walls with maximum internal air volume.

The SUB’s specific dimensions are 15.8 x 6.2 x 15in. (402 x 158 x 380mm) with a weight of 36.3 lbs (16kgs). Full SUB specifications, details can be found at http://sonos.co.nz/products/sub/

Thesubwoofer can be placed upright on the floor or placed flat, thanks to its 6.2-inch depth and two opposing racetrack-style cone drivers that fire into one another through a slot in the center of the SUB's enclosure. The force-canceling driver configuration also prevents the enclosure from vibrating.

Consumers use the Sonos app on their handheld device to join the Sub to a either the Play:3 or Play:5 amplified speakers or a Sonos Connect:Amp

The Sub and the tabletop devices then automatically adjust their EQ and level to deliver the best sound.

Users can also use their Sonos app to adjust the subwoofer's phase to deliver the loudest bass output and adjust subwoofer level up or down to compensate for placement.

Sonos recently announced worldwide sales hit US$250 million in calendar 2011, which also marked the third consecutive year in which the number of Sonos-equipped households doubled in number.

Thecompany is on track to make that four consecutive years, a spokesman said.
